I can identify with that :-) last Friday I did EXACTLY the same when invited for a goodbye party. we usually go for a banana shake on Fridays with my new colleague. today, after almost falling asleep into my jug, I suggested rescheduling it for Mondays. or, even better, Tuesdays (when you're over the shock of starting the week).

what's your poison if you want to knock yourself out? (do you want to?) - some people I know spend more on booze than rent. but that's not the only reason why I stick with ice coffee or cappuccino.

    ok, my dinner... :-)
we went for a drink after work, very spontaneously... and we just didn't stop talking! It was so nice because we're both in the same field, and we both found it difficult to go back to "home" and civilised life after living in the forest... (he only just recently got back), so for both of us it was a relief to be able to talk about these things, and the other person actually understanding! Other people normally just think we're crazy ;-) Anway, it got a bit late, and we were hungry, and since we had been talking about Thailand too, he remembered that he knew this place where they serve Thai food. It was all casual at first, but then they gave us a table in the back of the restaurant, and it was suddenly so much more romantic ;-) Candlelight, amazing red wine, lovely Thai meal, and we just didn't stop talking ;-) It took us hours to finish our meal! And suddenly it was past midnight ;-) And he paid for everything which is really nice because guys here in Switzerland don't often do that anymore. I think he likes me too, and it was really relaxing to talk to him... and it was wonderful to feel feminine again, and almost even desired ;-) I was smiling all the way home. Yay! I felt alive again! :-)

I don't usually knock myself out. I do drink, but it is most usually with a good meal or over a good conversation. I like to appraise wine and for a while I was a real wine snob....but for some reason I haven't had any in a while. I like dark thick beer that you can chew (so to speak) and have been drinking beer more often now. I'm very much looking forward to my upcoming vacation to Slovakia and Czech Republic so I can sample my way through the countries.

ummm, I'm not sure if there will be anything more... we work together, after all. It was just a very nice dinner, and I think me feeling desired was to do with the wine ;-) but we'll see. I'm not expecting anything. I wouldn't want things to get complicated, especially because my heart is still attached to somebody else.
It was nice the way it was, and I'm just thankful for that :-)

yes I see what you mean. just promise me (or, rather, yourself) you don't lock the door, even if you close it.

The door is open - maybe even a bit too wide ;-) I let myself get attached to people far too easily. I could easily fall in love with that guy if things weren't still so complicated and my heart in a mess. But I don't want to fall in love with somebody just because he treats me nicely! Where are my standards??
I promise not to lock the door, but I have to take care that I don't let too many people walk in and out just like that...

Hmmm I think this is going to be an evening with Campari or something ;-)

ohhhh I wish I could drink now! but all this medication.... I cannot.
I understand the bit about getting attached easily. it can be painful. yes you need to be careful :-(
I DO fall in love with anyone who treats me nicely repeatedly :-)
