I vote maipenrai for most exciting life of the week! (Betti with a close second on the contract). My week was only 50/50... my airconditioner flooded my house and it may be permanently broken...however, I just got back from the dentist today and "Look, Ma, no cavities!"
even Thai has kha and khap :-) but you are right, it should be ok. however, the tones kill me instead! I have studied several languages so on a surface level I got used to gender systems, it is these everyday subtleties that catch me out once in a while. even though these days I think in English almost all the time, some things are buried deeper and cannot be changed I guess, only to some extent. (counting/calculating I cannot do in English, like, if I have to do an addition or something like that either mentally or on paper.) exciting week? LOL. (did I write contract? it was actually my visa that came through yesterday. the contract.... well if I mess up I could be fired any day with immediate effect, so that doesn't help much.) don't mention dentists in this club or you'll be fired :-D
Oh, sorry...I assumed the extension was for work, but hey...woo hoo...visa extension is just as exciting. To celebrate my dental success, I just at a gooey pressed fruit roll up. :)
Betti... you're up late! Holiday?
gooey pressed fruit roll ups....! I remember those!! Gee I miss them! Used to have them a lot when we were kids, but can't find them anywhere here. oh, and while we're talking about the "nasty doctor" business.... how about this: going to see my gynecologist next week. iiiih! see, Pailin, even more "excitement" coming up next week! ;-) :-p
That IS the icky doctor ... oh my!!
ok, dentists AND gyns are not to be mentioned here, ok? :-) yes, it's Khao Phansa - long weekend. it is almost raining, or sometimes drizzling, clouds hanging low, I don't feel like going on a daytrip. so probably I will just sleep too much and get all depressed, just as it always happens on long weekends.
I love the long weekend sleeps. Heck, I like regular weekend sleeps. I've been in a pattern (rut?) lately, where I take 5 hour naps in the middle of Saturday! The Festival of Independent Theaters kicked off in Dallas last night. For the next month there are really cool theater companies who put on black box plays. I went last night and the first one was sooo good and creative. I look forward to catching a few more this weekend.
oh those afternoon naps :-) today I even missed "Desperate Housewives" (on StarWorld) because I overslept :-D that theatre festival sounds fun - sounds like summer :-) even though I really really dislike theatres, all the movements and whispers and everything that has to be horribly exaggerated for people in row 20 to see and hear anything :-( but what's a "black box play"?
black boxes are those really small theaters where all the walls and floors are painted black and they use very little scenery. Oh no, you missed "desperate housewives" you must have been desperate for a nap!
