    Re: Cherry blossom time

Mae Salong near Chiang Rai is another place to see cherry blossom.

Unfortunately, when I was there in January 2007, there were few flowers. Timing is important.

  4. Re: Democrats, smaller parties announce new coalition

    Thanks Stephen...
I am worried that, other than the "New Politics", the Democrat-led government would "punish" Northern Thailand and Issan by say, cutoff funding.
  5. Re: Democrats, smaller parties announce new coalition

Am I right that many Democrats also support PAD?

Re: HOw is the situation in Thailand.

    Tina Marie,
Even transit at Bangkok can be risky. You may want to fly to Malaysia, then catch a flight to Chiang Mai, bypassing Bangkok altogether.

Re: UDD to gather until PAD leaves airport

There is one thing which perplexes me...

Thaksin was a dictator. No doubt about that. He was also corrupt, though a journalist pointed out that this was normal by 'Thai standard'.

    But Thaksin...

    Re: Weeks to wait?

It won't be that long. The Constitution Court will dissolve PPP on Dec 2, and PAD will leave the airport immediately.
  12. Re: US criticises PAD, urges end to airport crisis

    P/S Richard was wrong.

  14. Re: Heavily-armed police block main road to Bangkok airport

I believe many fence-sitter - those neither pro-PAD nor pro-government - are hoping for a coup. They naively believe that military intervention will solve their problem once and for all.
