Re: How long does 1000 baht last?
No, we were not in Bangkok, and the place was totally unfurnished; we brought our own matress, fridge, tv, everything... from our home about 10/15km away.
We could have got a better place for only 200 Baht a month more, but that place didn't have a Western style toilet which is almost essential if you use a wheelchair...
There were no additional bills for electricity etc. on top of the 1,000 Baht rent.
For our money we got a reasonable size living area that wasn't too crowded when our son and two young nephews would come to stay at the weekends (and also served as sleeping area for them under a portable mosquito net), and at the back was an area big enough to use as a kitchen and also hang up clothes in. There was a corridor connecting therse two areas and between them was a bedroom and small hong naam.
There was also a (very) small area outside the back door that was only big enough for Ubonwan to use for washing the kitchen items and to do the laundry and hang it to dry.

Re: How long does 1000 baht last?
Ok, i'll list the breakdown:-
Hotel x2 days = Bth600
Breakfast x 2 = Bth60
Lunch x 2 = Bth120
Evening x 2 = Bth60
Dinner x = Bth120
Supper x 2 = Bth 40
Total Bth1,000
Reasonable if you are a budget traveller in Pukhet but normally my cousin will pay for everything.Hihihihi

Re: How long does 1000 baht last?
well when i first went to thailand Bth1000 would last me about 2 min. Now it depends on were i am if im taying in a nice bungalo in Korat i can get it for like Bth300 - Bth450 a day depending on which one and food costs about 200 - 500 depending on were we eat me my gf and her daughter.
In Phimai though the hotel costs me Bth550 per day but i can eat on about Bth200, mainly beacuse i drive to the villege which is close by and we cook, and i love the food from the street venders, mmmm soup. Bu in bangkok it costs me on avarage about Bth850 for a hotel, but my gf found a nice hotel with a big room and tv everything for like Bth400 a night, this was while she was staying in BKK to get the plane to come to the uk.

When I was living in my house in a village in nontaburi with mango trees in the garden, I would spend less than 100 baht a day. Enough buy two good meals and as much cold things as could drink.
If I fancied splashing out I could get the songtaew to the department store eat at the foodcentre and watch a movie almost doubling my daily expenditure.

Dear All - I think it depends on how you will spend it ka, mostly we will think about the necessity, but I see some teenagers spend 1,000 baht only for 1 shirt/blouse.
