Bangkok Hotel
Can I get reccommendations to clean and safe hotels (not guest houses) in Bangkok with a budget of USD $30-$55. I will be travelling with my parents and girlfriend. I also want a hotel that is centrally located near shopping centers, tourist spots, and night clubs (not for picking up women).
Thank you.

Your range is too wide becos there are so many hotels at BK that almost hundreds fits your description. Why not just go search the internet.

Like that has been said, there are hundreds of suitable hotels. Try this link for a selection:

I have stayed in the Asia Hotel a few times. That is within your price bracket. From this hotel you can get onto the sky train without going down to the street first. So, it makes coming and going very easy. It is very close to Siam Square.

Re: Bangkok Hotel
One of the big travel magazines (and I've completely forgotten which) has on the cover promises of "35 hotels in Bangkok under $200"
Are you kidding me?
Under 7,000Bt there are thousands! While I was in the book store looking at magazines, a couple came up to the magazine -- oh, honey look, we should really get this. I stopped them from buying the magazine and referred them to the travel section of the store for more accurate information.

Re: Bangkok Hotel
We like the ASIAN hotel downtown. The room price is in your range, One of best Shopping mall is only a short walk away and the Hotel is connected to the Ski Train. Try it I think you will like it.
