Re: thai-blogs.com downtime
Maybe its just me -it probably is going by the comments on part 1 of this blog-but I saw it as blog about a Thai funeral -not about Thai girls and money. There again, as I stated on my comment to part 1, I was able to read all 4 parts when they were first uploaded.

My plumber called yesterday to service my boiler. He has a Thai girlfriend of long standing who is working in the UK. His friend, however, has a Thai girlfriend living in Thailand who he met in a Bar while on holiday and to whom he is sending B28,000 (!) a month.
Both my plumber and his girlfriend have told him she is no good but he persists in sending this money-which is crippling him financially and they are very worried. I said I would ask on the forum to see if anyone had any ideas on how to get him to see the light.
So, anyone got any ideas?
He has been told by this girl he can visit her in March -not before - so obviously (to us anyway) she has other "appointments" before this.

Re: thai-blogs.com downtime
I have been reading the forums for a little more than three months now, and I notice that this topic (Thai girls/money) is one of the most-animatedly discussed ones. One could easilly note the generous sharings of those who are concerned about "opening the eyes of those in the dark".
Personally, I have gained a lot of insights from the sharings. However, I also noticed that some of those who came forward to ask for advice tended to pick up only that which reinforced their own thinking, making me doubt if they were genuinely seeking new paradigms, so to speak, in the first place. Some even tended to become defensive when the advice-givers forgot to mince words and would call a spade a spade.
What more then for those who choose to blissfully wallow in "darkness"? Would they really welcome unsolicited advice?
These are only my thoughts as an amateur observer. Maybe I am wrong? Please tell me.

Happily, I am not the person concerned here-I do not even know the guy concerned-but your observation concerning unsolicited advice will certainly have to be taken account of by his friends in my opinion- I will pass it on together with any other bits of advice forum members give that that may be useful. Thankyou.

I am sure there are far more that are relevant, perhaps other members would like to add to the list.

Re: Seeing the truth about bargirls
So what the hell, let him send his money if he wants, it is his money and no body else business what he does with it, they wouldn't say a word if he was giving it to them, now would they..

Re: Seeing the truth about bargirls
Having a particular occupation doesn't make someone "bad" any more than someone's race or religion makes someone "bad." Observing behavior in a social context is the only reasonable way to determine "goodness" and "badness" but, in the end, it is still and evaluation based on a social construction. I know several women who work with farang in Pattaya. They are very nice people who love and care for their families. However, if you are willing to give them money every month after a week rolling in the hay with them, they are more than willing to take it. Remember, they will not lie to you any more than you are willing to lie to yourself. FFT
