    Hotel Buffets

    Hi Everyone,

    To say thank you to my Thai colleagues for all the hard work they have put in over the last year, I am planning on taking them for a slap up meal at a nice restaurant / hotel. As we are a mixed group, with mixed tastes, I thought it might be an idea to take them to a nice hotel for a good quality buffet meal.

    Does anyone have any ideas / feedback on top of the range hotel buffets?

    Iíve heard good things about the spread at:

    Marriott;
    Oriental;
    &
    Conrad;

    Cheers folks!

    I personally think they would appreciate a meal in a good Thai restaurant where they can choose dishes, far more than a set buffet of farang food in a hotel. (I am assuming you are still located in the UK-but the same would probably be true as well in Thailand)

    Hi Khun Don,

    It's good to see that despite your advancing years, your memory remains as sharp as ever! Yes, I'm in London at the mo & yes, normally a Thai meal would be the safest option.

    Last year we all went to a seafood place near yaorawat but thats why this year I'd like to try something different.

    Also, most of these hotels have such a wide selection that the Thais & the farangs in the company would be equally happy with the choices available.

    Any ideas?

    If you like seafood there is a very nice seafood market, a bit expensive comparatively speaking for Thailand but nonetheless very good. I think it is located on Sukhumvit Soi 22 or 24. The place is massive and a bit off Sukhumvit but tons of taxi's know about the place. Went out to eat there and enjoyed everything and it was all fresh and made to order. Service was really good and quick and the atmosphere is nice. You can sit either inside or outside which is really nice....would recommend this place if you want to impress a bunch of colleagues. Can anyone verify where the exact location is?

    It's on Sukhumvit Soi 24, quite big restuarant. "If it's swim, we have" is the advertising slogan at the entry of this restuarant.

    Seafood Market,
    Phone Number: 02 66 11 25 29
    Address: 89, Sukhumvit Soi 24
    Bangkok, 10110

    Great place to go if you want something a little up market and a little pricier than the norm in Bangkok. Well worth it though! and They do have private rooms if you want to throw a party.

    Plug in "Bangkok Seafood Market Soi 24" into Google for reviews.

    What I really like about it as well is that it is a bit off of Sukhumvit. The outside portion of the restaurant, when I went at least, was not crowded at all and very relaxing. I look at the pricing like this - it cost under $200 for a group of about 10 people and we filled ourselves with a lot of seafood of all sorts - cannot find that anywhere else in the UK or USA....
