Re: How do I start learning Thai?

Reading with Manee is very good for learning how to read.

You might want to supplement it with learning some practical phrases, using transliteration as you go.

    www.learningthai.com is very good

Benjawan Becker's Thai for Beginners is also a great place to start.
You can read blogs about Thailand at - www.Thai-Blogs.com

Re: How do I start learning Thai?

I posted this before but because it is such an EXCELLENT and totally free learn Thai resource I'll link it again.

    Teach Thai Dot Com

It's put out by the Department of Informal Education in conjunction with the Thai Ministry of Education.

It's free to use once you make a user name, and the program talks to you in English. Even though it's designed for children to learn Thai, it's how I taught myself to read Thai.

    Try it, it works. ...

    Hello Pailin

Your suggestion would appeal to many people and attitudes to learn and then jump into talking with Thai people. Thanks for your encouragement.
I'm also a beginner. I am learning with audio book2 from goethe-verlag.de, (free), from abroad (India). I ahve some difficulty to distinguish the 5 tons... How can I train my ears to it?

    Thank you, take care

It's really important to get the links for study Thai,I never use for many years but I'm confident that I can undersstand very well, I do have Thai dictionary that I could learn from it,just wondering if I'm be able to teach Thai language to others, too. I expected to get the benefit a lots from it, I wanna learn how to giving a speech to the public in Thai, I dunno, if i can do it automaticly as a Thai tongue. I really need to get the support of I try it, not just being indifference, well I hope that I can study it thru watching the news, I suppose to install the Plate that capable to catch the channel news from Thailand, so I can learn it!!!! One thing that I'm concern is how and where can I going enact my talents, or I will have any prospective in the future to get a post somewhere, it can't be just ignorance...!!!!!
Well I hope I can make it.
