Does Universal Computer Store Exist?
Hello,
I won a bidding auction for an article in eBay from a user but I haven't received yet. He told me that he sent it in the 10th of january using the ordinary Thailand postal service. eBay cancelled his account. But he still is in contact with me by e-mail. I have already paid for the article by an international wire transfer. He told me that Thailand post returned the article for wrong destination address. Now he asks me to pay more to send it again by Thailand post's EMS service. And I don't know if I should trust him.
The seller told me that he has a shop in Bangkok called Universal Computer Store www.universalcomputerstore.com, in the address below.
And I would like to know if any of you know this shop, or has heard something about it, because I am thinking that he is a swindler.
Thanks in advance, and please, I need your help. I suppose that most of Thailand people are honest, but situations like this can produce a bad image of you.

Re: Does Universal Computer Store Exist?
I cannot tell you for any certainty, but.....
Items are not returned to Thailand until they have been in YOUR local post office for at least one month. Which means it could be two months before the shop in questions gets the merchandise back.
The website address you gave was registered by someone who lives in Calcutta, India.
Panthip Plaza is not in Chitlom.
There is no such Bangkok postcode as 10776.
Panthip plaza is on Petchaburi Road.
I am sorry. It doesn't look good.
If you paid by credit card I would get an immediate charge back. If by Pay Pal, then contact their fraud section.
Good luck.

Re: Does Universal Computer Store Exist?
If you have paid using Paypal, get in contact with them.I f he has mailed using regular airmail, and cannot prove that the items have been waiting at the post office,he wil lose his case. Also if he has mailed by regular thai mail ,registered,he will also lose his case ,because regular tracking is hopeless. You provide paypal with the track number, they enter it ,and im pretty sure nothing of any use will come up on the screen. They are very tight on track numbers ,and insist a seller mails by them,if they dont ,then you win.Best bet is to make contact with paypal, keep any email correspondence between you and the guy,and if they ask for it ,provide it.

Thank you very much. But I have paid him by an international wire transfer, so I can't take advantage of the PayPal benefits.

Re: Does Universal Computer Store Exist?
Hello again,
I have just received news from my local post office telling me that a package sent to me has actually been lost in the way to me. That evidence makes me think that maybe I have NOT been swindled. But I would still like to know if someone knows Universal Computer Store.
And thanks again to all those who have tried to help me.

Re: Does Universal Computer Store Exist?
IMO I want sent any (more) money via wire transfer to anyone I don't know. (and eBay's purchase protection programme won't cover the transaction.)
why should you pay for item to be posted again ?
in eBay's rule, it is seller's responsibility to make sure the item arrived or proof that the item has been sent to your address on eBay. It the seller who has to re-post it if they can't proove that it has been sent to the your address (assuming your record on eBay is correct), they have to pay it themselves, not you!!
oh ... probably that is one of the reasons that they took him off the site ... is the seller was banned by paypal, too?
How does your post office knew it lost "in the way" when seller sent with regular / non-recorded post, don't they just mean it never arrived there so we don't really know if it ever been sent.
I doubted that anyone would know this store, if there is one, could be different one with just same name since it is quite generic name.
Like Richard said, the address is fake, Panthip is not on Chitlom (or Chidlom) and there is no Chitlom 89 (there is only one Soi chitlom, not Chitlom 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 89). The postcode is wrong. There got only one-page website and they even spell Thailand wrong! and .. oh no
is any Thai person dare to use that email address (the part before @ )
I guess this is the seller
sorry it doesn't looks good

Re: Does Universal Computer Store Exist?
Hello,
The person who theoretically sent me the package, put a claim in the Thailand post office, and it arrived yesterday to my home town. I told the postman that I didn't received the package and now the claim will go back to Thailand. That means that at least the package exists, although I can't guarantee that it doesn't contain a piece of coal, instead of what it should contain. I hope that as soon as the claim is back in Bangkok, your postal system will send me again free of charges.
And talking about the shop. You have told me that the address is wrong but, anyway, do you know any shop with that name in Bangkok. From what the seller told me, it is located in a big building where software can be bought at very cheap prices.
Thanks again for your valuable help.
