Re: Does Universal Computer Store Exist?

Everyone know Panthip Plaza. It is the famous computer shopping mall in Bangkok. What is in dispute is about this particular shop - is it real or not? The seller could be genuine. You could be receiving something. However, it looks like, for his own reasons, he decided to pose as a shop owner of a fake shop. The evidence so far suggests he doesn't own a shop in Panthip Plaza.

There are ways to trace emails sent to you if you know how. There is a kind of hidden signature which allows you to trace the route it took. Like I said before, the website is registered to an address in India. It would be interesting to see if the emails originated from there too.

I am also curious about the time frame. Normal airmail from Thailand to Europe would take about 7-10 days. Sometimes a bit longer if you are outside a big city. If he sent it registered, it then takes more than a month for his post office to track it. For me it sometimes takes two months before the post office reports back to me about what happened to a parcel. However, if he sent it by Thai EMS in the first place, it would take 2-3 days and there is online tracking. You just need the tracking code and you can check for yourself the location.

It could very well be in Pantip plaza(sounds like it by the description),but there are 100`s of small computer shops in there. So to know for sure will be nearly impossible, unless the guy tells you truthfully the shop number, and floor, and somebody from the forum,on the off chance is in there ,and can tell you if it exists or not.
I doubt very much the Thai post office will mail again for nothing.

    Thank you very much.

I previously used the Who is service to find out more about the web page www.universalcomputerstore.com. And I could see the same information as you, more or less. And, how could I positively now where the e-mails come from?

The seller used ordinary post service, and sent the package on the 10th of january. So it makes sense that the package was returned to Thailand. Right now, after talking to my local postal service boss, I know that a package has actually been sent to me with the size it should have and that the package was lost. The seller tells me that the package is in Bangkok right now, but that can not be guaranteed. The most surprising fact however is that the seller has told me that they are paying to Thailand post a daily charge for keeping the package in their offices.

The seller offers me to pay 135 us dollars to send the package again but using Thailand EMS service.

    Thank you very much.

I don't really know how far that building is, neither how big Bangkok is but, is any of you close enough from there to check if it exists?

Hopefully I can offer something more sensible this time(sorry for the last post-a hasty response to reading too hastily )
What about the telephone number given on the site? Genuine?

The telephone number is correct. I have just called him and a Thailand man voice has answered in the name of Universal Computer Store.

Should I pay for the EMS delivery?

Did you talk to this man about the problems you are having with this order?

I do not know anything about EMS- or how big -or how valuable-the thing is you have bought- but US$135 sounds a lot of money to me for delivery.

I have already talked with the man by e-mail, and he told me that Thailand post was doing nothing.

The package weights between 5 and 10 kg. and it has a volume of less than 1 m3

That would be cool if someone on this forum could show up there and ask him about the order in person.
