    Thai VCD or DVD movies

Good day to all, anyone has any idea where to get Thai VCD or DVD movies that is either in english or has english sub titles? I am working in Thailand and was wondering if anyone can help to direct me where in Bangkok I am able to get it. Thanks

You can try Mangpong. They have branches everywhere (including MBK). Look on the back of the box to see if it has English subtitles. However, there are not many Thai movies with English subtitles. This is because they don't want the low cost DVDs being sold on the foreign market. They want to repackage the DVDs themselves and charge extra. As a rule, you won't find subtitles on VCDs.

It's certainly true that if you are in Thailand you'd pay a lot less if you can find the movies locally (judging from the prices on the movies I have bought from EThaiCD). Of course if you have to spend a whole day searching through the stores to find what you want, that is also a "cost".

If you are watching a Thai movie on a computer, you can sometimes download the English subtitles seperately. You have to open them in a text editor (like Wordpad) and scroll through them manually which could be a pain if you just want to watch the film but is good if you are improving your Thai. I watched 'Shutter' this way.

Hi Lord, where do I go to download English subtitles? Do you also have the sites to download Thai movie scripts? I think reading Thai movie scripts would also help to improve my reading and spoken Thai.
