what Thai family likes?
hi i am visiting my gf family the 2nd time this round.
i went empty handed the 1st time round as i wasnt prepared at all to see them.
so this time round i wanted to at least to have some courtesy as they are treating me to a dinner. may i know what thai's family like ?
esp my gf's mother, and siblings, i dun really care about the father as i think he is virtually non existence.
i am thinking of buying of culinary sets / bedsheet or home applicances...and maybe a bottle of wine or something.
so anyone has idea what should i buy in other to gain points
they are fetching me at the airport so i do not have time to go shopping with my gf, so what should i buy ? i

I would like to recommended you to asking your gf for her idea about this, as she must be the person who is better know in her family's preferable.
I hope you'll have very nice time with them in Thailand. Choke Dee Kha." Every morning dedicate positive things, and during the whole day make a wish that we will always be of benefits to sentient beings. We will be helpful to any being in different ways."

just in case you have no chance to ask your gf or she just said anything will do.
I think agree with Paul's suggestion
re: something that represents your country or things that they can't get easily in Thailand. I don't know what it should be from where you're from but like from where I am, I usually get t-shirt, shopping bags, keyrings, caps or hats with national flags or symbols (like building or vehicles); some chocolate that is different from what they sell in Thailand (I like to buy Kinder's Hippo
or Cadburys). Or somethings from brand over here like NEXT or M&S or Burberry.
As you actually want to buy for girls, you don't need to buy Whiskey since they will usually automatically understand that it is for the father even though women might drink too - I think bottle of wine is better in this case especially the one that not really easy to get in Thailand.
Anyway, if you already bought bedsheets and culinary stuff, that's fine too as a good set of culinary can be expensive in Thailand and their bedsheets are not really good design (I bought them abroad too, my mom like things from NEXT home ware
)
good luck and enjoy your trip.TK

Whisky for dad and then money, money & money.
However strange to us westerners money, however small amount, is a much appreciated gift.

Money is the gift that you will have to never stop giving. Paul_au has a great suggestion, something that can only come from your country is a great idea. Wine and whiskey are also great gifts.

You don't want to become a free meal ticket by giving money, it will come expected of you, and when you put your foot down and stop, the family may disown you.
