Thai's main exports

Hello,
I am really interested in Thailand. In fact I think I might move there when I'm older. But first i have to know, i just have to know what are Thailands main exports and inports.

I can see lots of rice here in Singapore, imported from Thailand. There are also lots of fish sauce. (my favorite seasoning!).

Maybe rice is one of their major exports.

Exports manly electronic goods, pickups etc - is the worlds largest exporter of rice but this is not the largest value export.

For some foriegners might be disappointed that it's not our women and those sex video......but in facts are rice and shrimps, that we are most exporting.

The book "Essays on Thailand" by Thanapol Chadchaidee lists these important export products: canned pineapple and tuna, rice, rubber, chilled fish and prawns, precious stones, sugar and tapioca products, hard disks and integrated circuits, frozen chicken, maize, and cut flowers.

Yes, rice is certainly one of the tops and the most well remembered of Thai exports to SG During the global economic downturn last year, there was an article carried by The Straits Times which cited ecomomic rice (aka mixed dishes with rice) stall holders saying that their continuation to provide only the tastier (but more costly, profit-reducing) Thai fragrant rice, rather than using cheaper, non-fragrant ones, even in these difficult times, is because customers are so used to the Thai fragrant variety that they will not want to eat from their stalls anymore if there is a change of rice type.

Rice power, indeed People in countries that hold rice as a food staple may tighten their belts over many other things, but it appears that having to give up that comfort in rice seems the last thing to go.

Thailand has a growing car manufacturing industry. l believe the Mazda 2 cars are made there now and not in Japan. l have been told, some of the Australian Holden range of vehicles, also come from Thailand. Not sure, but maybe motor cycles also ??
