Prasong says Govt fails in all missions
Prasong Soonsiri, chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee, Thursday criticised the government of failing to solve both economic and political problems during the past seven months.
Prasong attacked the government after Prime Minister Surayud reported the progress of the government's works to the National Legislative Assembly.
Prasong said the report was like a thesis which failed to clearly point out the concrete achievements of the government.
He said the government's acceptance rating was declining and those who used to support the government had distanced themselves from the administration.
He said the government had failed to tackle economic woes and both household and public debts had risen while baht greatly appreciated and affected export.
He said the southern violence had also worsened.
"If the government continues to tackle the southern problems in this manner, I believe the government and the military will be called the ones who cause Thailand to lose its southern region," Prasong said.
Prasong was the first NLA member to debate against the government.
A total of 68 NLA members registered their wish to debate against the government and the NLA speaker allowed them to speak 15 minutes each.
