where to buy thai music CDs and Karaoke?

hi,im Jane fr Penang,Malaysia.
i'll come to Bangkok in d end of Sep.
Part of shopping in clothing n stuff,i would like to buy some Thai CDs and Karaoke (VCD/DVD) as well.

I love to listen to Thai music and i plan to buy my fav Thai singers'/bands' CDs in supporting them. I know some of the karaoke is in Thai, and some may have Thai plus 'Thai pronunciation' for whom dono Thai,do u know where to get it?
However,as i cant understand Thai, so i scared it would a problem in buying it.

And how much for buying a CDs and a VCD/DVD karaoke?

P/s:it's my 1st time visit to Bangkok.

Carrefour has a lot of them and it's a nice big clean store. They usually run about 140 baht for a VCD.

Inside of malls you will often find Mang Bpong music stores. They are orange signs with a scorpion logo. Most malls have one. Your first time going to BKK you will probably most likely visit MBK, there is one in there. Inside of the large Central World mall there is another good record store in there called B2S. It seems to have a better selection than Mang Pong. I will attach a picture below.

I like buying them from Carrefour because it's a big store and I believe in the legitimacy of the goods there. One of my friends told me you cannot tell the difference between a real and fake CD/VCD.

Some VCDs have transliteration, some don't. I don't think there are any produced right now that have both with and without so you don't have to worry. Most Grammy VCDs have transliteration.

yeah,i'll sure go to MBK coz i believe a big shopping mall like tat would have at least 1/2 CDs shop.
ok,i do hope B2S gt all the CDs i want.
(as i heard peacemaker's last album is out of stock)

it's kinnda sad if we cannot tell the difference between a real and fake CD/VCD...i guess if we buy from big shooping mall,it's safer,right?

If I'm correct, MBK actually only has two CD stores... on on the first level across from McDonald's and a MangPong on the 7th floor. There are tons of DVD copy booths, but not a lot of CDs. Around Siam Square there are several CD places. In my experience the B2S at Central World has the best selection for obscure/old music.

So,i think they might nt have a full range of music...

personally, i had purchase CDs at MBK, but the varieties is not that much. first you can do some homework first, then purchase it after you decided. i think u can judge by seeing the packaging cos the thai CDs that i brought in singapore don't look real to me but the quality still good(surprisingly)... the price is quite affordable anyway... just my two cents of worth...
going to bangkok, thailand this sunday... going to buy DVDs concerts and CDs too... 555+
