    Thai TV In Europe...

I may be incorrect but I am sure when the subject has come up before it has been said that you cannot get Thai tv on satellite in Europe?

I was at my Aunt's funeral today and was talking to her cousin who has visited Thailand often (and totally co-incidentally registered at these Forums yesterday) and he informed me that it is possible to receive, though I don't yet know what channels you can get.

He has it in his home and has also installed it for a local Thai restaurant. He has his own business installing aerials and satellite dishes. He has invited me around to 'talk Thailand' and I will let you know further details of what tv can be received when I know.

Apologies if people already know Thai tv can be received but my recollection is that it was said you can't.

    Hi David

Yes David Thai TV is available via satellite but it isnt on the ASTRA one. You need a dish pointing at the HOTBIRD4 satellite where you will find one regular Thai channel and the Dharma Bhuddist channel.

Thai TV (TGN - Thai Global Network) is a single channel made up from a mixture of programmes broadcast over the Thai TV channels 3, 5, 7, etc
They broadcast the same 12 hour series twice over a 24hr period.

There is one company that I know of does dish, decoder etc all for £200(ish) - pm me if you want details.

    Hope that helps

Ah yes, thanks Guava, I was mis-remembering this thread.

I am not really that interested in the tv in Thailand (or Wales for that matter) and mostly only watch the Khan Kluay tv series so I will see what this friend says first.

He is a family friend and in the trade so he may do a better price.

It would be mainly be of interest when Ubonwan visits Wales in the future.

There are many TV over the internet services now. Some free. Some for pay. I can't justify the price of paying for the commercial services. Dhamma TV has a very good uplink though...

Kikiat - it is only polite that if you want the forum to keep linking to your websites that you do a link back to us!

thumbs up Re: Thai TV In Europe...

I was already linking to Learning Thai on:

    http://mister-kwai.com/ThaiWeb/Thai/...ng-thai-26.php

    and to Thai photo blog:

    http://mister-kwai.com/ThaiWeb/Thai/...laneous-22.php

but now the forum is also linked, in:

    http://mister-kwai.com/ThaiWeb/Thai/...um-chat-84.php

(sorry for those three links, it's just to show that i link to Paknam, feel free to delete them too)

Jai yen yen Richard , I like Paknam, just tell me to stop posting links and i will stop.
But i would still come, it would not lessen my interest in this forum.
