    Chiang Mai floods trigger evacuation

(BangkokPost.com) – Floods in Chiang Mai’s Mae Wang district have overturned the lives of hundreds of locals who live in the area. About 800 households in 4 sub-districts are now being rescued from their homes after the strong water current cut off three bridges.

Authorities expect all residents to be evacuated safely if there is no more rain today to hamper rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, residents who live along the Mae Wang river were also evacuated to higher ground due to more rainfall which increased water levels last night.
