Family Paper, Adding and Subtracting Members and so on

I would like to know the Thai and English word for the government paper in which a list of the family members is kept. This usually includes all of the family members living in the residence at that time, or the members of the family that used to live there. How do you write this government paper of the family list in Thai?

When a family member marries and moves out, or a married spouse moves into the residence, is it easy to change the form, and what is the cost? In the case of divorce, is it easy to have the form changed and the name of the spouse removed from the paper?

    Thank you.

As a foreigner you cannot get your name on the house papers until you become a Thai resident (costly)
Family usually stay on the house papers until they grow up and purchase one for themselves, but they do not have to change.
They also get voting rights in the Changwat that the haouse is located.
Simple enough to change and not expensive.

I got the answer to my own question by locating it on thai2english.com. The document is called a tabian baan. However, I still do not know how much it costs to have it altered.

Sorry I can't be specific, but it costs very little. When we married in February we paid 500 Baht at the Amphur which was a lot more than you should (because I am Farang, a female Registrar demanded 5,000 Baht a few days earlier so we told her 'no thanks'). The 500 Baht included two marriage certificates, a new ID card for my wife with her new surname, and the alteration on the tabian baan ทะเบียนบ้าน to her new surname, plus a payment to the Registrar so that he could 'find' some marriage certificates that we could already see on his desk.

Thanks for the information David, which is much appreciated. I have a feeling I will be in the same price boat as you since I am farang (Canadian).

500baht - SCAMMED! A marriage certificate costs no more than 20baht! A new ID card with a change of surname, no more than 20baht and an altercation of 'tabian ban' again no more than 20baht! Friggin schemers at the district office - 5,000baht what a joke!

Do the nice thing and send a letter to the Buriram Governor with a photocopy of the receipt! And don't forget to mention the 5,000 baht too!

I don't think that is 100% correct. I was told I could have my name there too but the first name on the list (poo yai baan) must be khon thai. Plus, my name wouldn't be in the normal blue book but in a book of a different colour. I couldn't see the point so I never pursued it.
