Gradual, but total immersion—and a private tutor.
Also, I think it needs to be something that you really enjoy studying. It takes time, and a few embarrassing mistakes...like the time I once tried to tell a taxi driver that I wanted to open my own business, but accidentally said something else (stupid sala-ÍØ why can’t it sound more like sala-ÍÐ)
Anyways, I know what you’re thinking: “Who wouldn’t want to spend day and night learning Thai?” But believe it or not, there are actually people out there who would rather do other things. Most of the rest of the world, for example."Random Witty Comment"
