    Trifle

Is there a word for 'trifle' in Thai, or an easy description a Thai may understand? I am talking of the dessert trifle. We were talking about it on the telephone earlier and Ubonwan has not a clue what I meant.

    Re: Trifle

    nope.
It should be ไทรฟัล or something like that.
You could just explain in instead, though, saying that it's a dessert or cake (ของหวาน or ขนมเค้ก) that has layers of cake and cream and fruit...

As roni has said your best bet would be to explain that it is khanom and what it is made of.

That's what I did, that's what she didn't understand. She thinks anything Farang that is Khanom xxx is a cake.

    Re: Trifle

    you can say:
you might want a thai person to check that sentence though, just to make sure it make sense....

Thanks. I think it's easier if I just let her think its a cake until she comes visit Wales sometime in the future.
