Re: One visa for two countries
When I first saw this story, I thought it meant a great opportunity for the countries involved. Tourism in Asia contributes greatly to local economies and such international co-operation would encourage trade, tourism and international recognition of the beauty and cultural heritage of the region. Has anyone heard of any progress toward this "multiple country" visa as it was first suggested? - it would be a great shame to see the concept evaporate through lack of interest.

Re: One visa for two countries
This is a 2008 post!
and 3 years later nothing has happened and it wont just because the fact its easy to get a 1 year business visa in Cambodia, your then left alone for 1 year no visa runs or immigration visits,
an expat's dream in Thailand!
But you then you would get all the riff raff staying in Thailand, because it would be easy as they would have the correct visa, get visa in Cambodia but live in Thailand,,,, never happen. 800,000bht in bank for retirement visa in Thailand! around $200 for year business visa in Cambodia but no need for business!!!!!! we can all dream,,,,,

Re: One visa for two countries
I see your point Ian, but surely such multi-national tourist visas could be issued for say, three months with no extension? Longer visas or different categories could remain as they are - valid only for the country of issue. It seems a great opportunity for several countries gone begging....... just for a lack of foresight.
