Renting a home near Chulalongkorn Uni

Hi.. I am a Singaporean and will be studying at Chulalongkorn Uni this August.. To stay in the hostel, I have to pay 7000Baht/month, with facilites.. I was just wondering if there is any place nearby the school that I can rent at lower prices.. Do let me know(: Thank you very much!!

Might be hard to find cheaper so downtown but if you are prepared to do a commute, less than one hour, I'm sure you can find a one-room place for about 5,000, maybe even a bit less. But finding one might involve roaming around the streets looking for condo blocks and asking at the office.

Oh, I'm sure you can find something in that area.... Try looking in Rajathewee, Petchaburi Sois 5 and 7. There are several that should be around that range.

I heard that Thai universities have cheap lodging to rent out. These should be much cheaper than normal apartments. It is best to check with the university itself.

There are so many very cheap rentals--I am surprised! I wonder if there's a catch to them ???
I value informed opinion, not opinion that stems from nothing but attitude. The latter is the depth of ignorance.

An apartment could cost between 2500B - 5000B per month. The rate depends on whether it is an empty or furnished unit. If it is in a good location, the price might be higher. Those who are interested generally have to sign a 1-2 years contract and pay a deposit upfront. Utility bills are also not included in the above price.

yes, a lot of the apartments, at least from that
    website, go from 2500 a month, + first month's
rent as deposit for insurance, + over 100 baht
per month per unit for water and about 7 or 8
baht for electricity per unit per month. those
around 2500 have basic furniture, bed, dressing
table, chair and thats it. aparments of 3500+ baht
usually have nicer furnitures, maybe even AC, fridge,
etc. I dont know if there's a cath for those prices
so low. I'm still currently doing research on a place
to live for when i make my move to Bkk in a few months.
    it will be great
