    Thai signs in my 'hood

Here are some Thai signs from restaurants and souvenir shops in inner Melbourne where I work. Would anyone like to try translating one?

    Okay, sign #2:

    HELP WANTED
    (not considering س˹)

Not sure what س˹ is... and not sure with the glare if س is even right. I'm assuming it's a joking slang for something bad since ˹ is involved.

(very cool thread! thanks for doing this...maybe I'll post some pics from signs in my 'hood, too)

it is hard to read, i think the word is س˹, which roughly means precious rich kid. in other words, if you want this job, you have to be able to work hard, work in a team, perhaps even get your hands dirty.

    all the best.

Good observation, aanon! So then I take it that ѺԨóҤس˹ might be roughly translated as "Spoiled rich kids need not apply".

    That's pretty funny!

I've been shying away from #3 because I'm a little uncertain how to translate ͧ͢ҡ. I think it means something like "We buy items on consignment" If that's correct, then the entire sign reads:

First line: "We buy items on consignment and pay top dollar" (i.e., literally, "to your satisfaction", ١)

Second and third lines: "Discount (ǹŴ) for Thai People"

I guess that means that the items they sell are at a discount for Thais. ??

I think that's right... at my local Thai grocery, they take orders for essentially anything you want in Thailand (this is mostly used for regular magazine and newspaper subscriptions) and they'll order it and have it available for purchase.

    ͧҡ = souvenir
So it means " buy souvenir that (your friends, relatives, etc.) will definitely like. And they will sell you a special price with a discount ( If you are a foreigner, the price will be higher) :-)
Thai people love souvenirs. It doesn't matter how big, how small, how cheap, how expensive they are. If they are form abroad, they are excellent!!! :-)
