The question should be, will the Baht grow stronger against European, Australian, Asian, Japanese or US economies. Well lets hope it drops in value from the part of the world your coming from, to give you a cheaper holiday, because depending where you come from you may be a winner or a loser.

Well if you settle in Thailand it depends on your circumstances. If you generate you income out side Thailand you want the Thai baht to remain low, If you own an export company in Thailand you want the Thai baht to remain low as you income is generated out side Thailand, But if you have a paid Job in Thailand, on which income you live on you want the baht be high.

Re: Will thai baht grow stronger during song kran?
The Thai Baht will get stronger as the US dollar (USD) take another loss against most Asian currencies this week but rest assure that the USD's fall will be limited, as some traders became reluctant about pushing down the dollar too far.
The biggest question to the current Thai government is - how much will they push the Baht against the USD, will they put a stop at 30 THB = 1USD? Or strive to go lower.
I own a home in Thailand which I bought about six years ago at 2.5 mil THB when the Baht was 40+ THB = 1USD (so my home was bought at around $60,000+ USD). it's now valued at 4.5 mil THB, and if I sell it this year, I stand to make a huge profit even if I convert it back to USD at the USD buying rate of approximately 33 THB = 1USD.
So all in all, making USD salary and living in Thailand de-valued my monthly earning/income but raised my property at the current exchange rate.Last edited by joefukawe; 17-04-08 at 10:24 AM.
