it's not that we're racist or anything... i don't know how to explain this... it's just that we're probably not used to 'black' people... personally i wouldn't mind helping any type of people...
however, 'prejudice' is the word... it's just that we might not know a lot about yous... well... i don't mean personally but pubically... if you know what i mean.

anyway... glad to hear you had a nice time there... and you get to go places whereas i didn't though i'd been living in thailand for all my life...

and hope you'd be back there soon!

Yeah I know.. I just soo dislikee it when people judge people just by their looks or by the color of their skin. We had a disagreement back in the days... I would say around the 60's. Yessss an unforgettable decade!!! We're "suppose" to treat everyone equal, but there are still some who just don't like someone for the color of their skin. It's funny... some Thai guys/girls in Thailand like Britney Spears, etc. and she's veryyy tanned for a white girl LOL hahaha.... I would have to admit it.. SHE'S HECKAAA HOTT!!! LOL hahaah she's my role model Hmm... it's not any difference if someone is dark or light... shouldn't really contradict yourself onto not getting to know that person. Who knows.. it may be your soul mate!

I was in Thailand recently and experience something strange, while in Bangkok in the red light district, while a lot of white guys were being pull and beg to go to a bar no one said anything to me, i was alone. Same happen when i went to Nana Plaza same thing, went to Phuket same thing, is it true that some Thai people thinks the closer to white you're the better looking you are and the more sucess you have.

I love thailand and i'm planning to go back soon and as a black person I would like to know are thai people racist or they just not use to us or scare for what they see on tv or heard in the news about us? please let me know.

No matter what the answer is I'm still going because i did meet a lot of wonderful people, I was wondering if it's something i did or is it another sterotype?

    Booz
    HHMmmzzzz....strange experience.

I went this summer with a friend and he had a white skin colour.
My skin colour is brown and when we walked across public place where thai girls were clapping, screaming, talking, pulling us inside, touch us etc.
That's why I find it strange that you had such a experience.

    Are you shy?
When you walked with the group and entered a public place did you stick with the group or were you standing in a corner?

People in Holland (not eveyone) mostly go to the beach for the sun and to get a darker skin. They like a darker skin.

I should say give someone with a other skin a fare chance!
Maybe you like him much more than someone with a white skin.
It's al prejudice...how can some see on the colour of your skin what kind of job you have and if you make a normal sallary every month?

People shouldn't be changing their skin colour, this is what you are. If people cann't accept that than they aren't worth being with you.

    Very strange indeed...

I'm from Holland and I went to Thailand with a friend who has a black skin colour. I know that Thai people in general like a white skin colour but they didn't make a distinction between me and my friend. Everywhere we went we both were treated as special persons...

Come to think of it, I didn't see many dark skin people in Thailand all the times I was there. No Indians, Malays, Africans, African Americans, etc...

Yep, you're right... although I noticed that many taylors in Bangkok were Indians. The friend I went with was Indian too and because of his descent a girl told him that he must have a lot of money

So I also think that Indian people are considered to be very wealthy in contrast to for example Africans.

Wealthy Indians tend to move abroad. There is quite a substantial amount of rich Indians. Maybe they should like try to help out the situation in India, where there is widespread poverty. People like Mother Theresa only come about once every 10000 years.

Back to the tailors in Thailand, there are quite a few Indian tailors in Singapore too. I wonder what is it about Indians and tailoring? In Singapore, we see many different races, many different colours and hear many different languages everyday. I'm used to that, so when I go to Thailand and see that everyone there is the same, same colour, same language, it's weird to me.

In Holland there are also many different nationalities. If you go to Rotterdam for example... you will see many different races like Africans, South-Americans, Asians etc... very multicultural.

And Makiy0, in Bangkok I stayed in a hotel called White Palace where many Africans were staying. In Thailand I did see different races but mostly they were tourists.

A funny thing... when I walked in Bangkok at night I saw a famous Dutch-African tv-babe who was going to marry in Thailand. She saw me too and when she noticed that I recognized her she walked away very fast haha I never saw her in Holland before and when I was on the other side of the world I did Weird...
