Perhaps you would like to translate it so that those who do not understand Thai can respond.

    Re: thai boyfriend/husband

Okay sorry.. I somehow expected that most of you can read thai.
    Thats what I posted:

Is there anyone who has a Thai boyfriend? I'm German and my Boyfriend is Thai. We've been together for almost 3 years, now we also think about marrying.. I'd like to talk to other women from Europe who also have a thai boyfriend or husband. It would be great to share our experiences..
How is your relationship? Is it easy or are there any problems because of the nationality (culture etc)? In which country do you stay?
Please don't be shy to answer. I miss someone who is in the same situation and understands me if i'm talking about thai men...

All women involved with Thai men.

Do share your story here too. I'm tired of reading stories of foreign men with Thai women.

I know there's a thread titled, "What Attracts Farang (Males) To Thai Women". Maybe there should be a counterpart thread, "What Attracts Farang (or Foreign) Women to Thai Men" ? : )
I value informed opinion, not opinion that stems from nothing but attitude. The latter is the depth of ignorance.

    Re: thai boyfriend/husband

I have met 5 farangs ladies so far who had Thai husbands, 4 of them were actually married to ethnically non-Thai men (Karen, Hmong, Shan). there is often a perception that Thai men are gayish, girlish, there is very little masculine about them. hilltribe guys are often quite different, both physically and in their attitudes - this seems to be a frequent opinion. I got reminded of this opinion last week, when at the Chiang Mai culture festival, I saw all sorts of hilltribe dances as well. so different from traditional Thai. men and women actually dance together, and there is lots of flirting, and men don't act and move like women at all.

personally, I had a bad experience with a Thai (ethnic Lao) guy trying to rip me off. pretty much like the usual "my buffalo is sick" setup, just with the gender roles reversed in this case. I'm not saying I'm not going to date a Thai guy ever again, I'm not that simple-minded, but I don't feel strongly motivated either. but then, I guess all men are just.... men, in different shapes and sizes. there are some ways of thinking and preferences and behaviour patterns that are surprisingly similar across cultures - and I'm talking about all those little annoying habits they have.

sorry I guess I am not very clear, I should be asleep, worked too much today.

(there was a farang woman - thai man thread a couple of years ago, which I started, too tired to dig it up now )

    Re: thai boyfriend/husband

True... i was ever cheated by a Northeastern guy before. But I wasn't ripped off so much, more of having being betrayed. He had a wife back home, so the story's kinda sad like any thai lakorns where the girl finds out that her boyfriend is secretly having a "gig" ( affair ). Then I started to fear these kinda guys appearing in my life, fortunately my current one ( also Northeastern ) has been with me for almost 2 years, and I've seen his parents and family as well ( sure lot of them over there ). What I think is, if anyone wants to be affirmed as a "girlfriend" label, she should have ALREADY met his parents. That'll make you less worried about what's coming next, rather than how financially able he is to support u in life. Cos everyone knows that the population from thai men to thai women is like 1 : 2 ? Not very sure but men ( nice, reliable, "straight", as well ) are getting pretty lesser than before...don't you think so?

I'm sure 100% Thai men will disagree with that statement but funny... my Singapore lady friends and 1 Malaysian lady friend commented the same thing too. I do agree on occasions when the guy speak to the lady friends they tend to sound a little "soft". I was told this is the way to make more "lady friends" though.
