    New Nancy Chandler map

I just noticed the new edition of the Nancy Chandler map of Bangkok. Dated Feb 2008, it is an update from the previous one of 2002, so will include much more info on such places as the Paragon etc. I have found the las map to be invaluable during my stay here and look forward to using the new one while I can

The map/guide is updated often, and you can always get up-to-the-minute updates from http://www.nancychandler.net/product_update.asp?pId=12

Because of its "cartoon" appearance, the Chandler maps get a lot of flack.
People don't understand that the map is simply an addition to the guide.
I can think of few better sources for visitor information.

The map should be available at the airport, but probably at a premium price.
You can usually find it at Asia Books, Bookzine and Kinokuniya, among other places.

From experience, I have noted that the price of books at the airport (both outside and inside) are the same as at bookstores in Bangkok.

However, DO NOT buy from duty free items such as electronics as you are often paying 50% more than shops in Bangkok. Food items are also obviously more expensive than say 7-Eleven.

    Re: New Nancy Chandler map

Well I found my new one in the hotel my parents just stayed in. I haven't seen it before but its dated Feb 2008.

It does have a quite hippyish, cartoon appearance, but if you have the time to look over the descriptions and sub-maps of JJ market, Siam area, Sukhumvit etc.. it does give very reliable info. The little Yellow book is handy also(comes free), but its alphabetical listings let it down.

Look for the purple heading, not the blue one, thats the old one.

As for CM, sorry I don't know, I'll let you know in a couple of days.
