    Thanks for your list, Nuttapong!

I found out, though, that the prices of same tours vary from one tour provider to another. And so it's wise that if you have some spare time to contact a few to compare prices. For example, the Kanchanaburi Day Tour I took a couple of months back was priced differently although we were on the same van, ate the same food, and saw almost same places.
I value informed opinion, not opinion that stems from nothing but attitude. The latter is the depth of ignorance.

    CITY & TEMPLE TOUR

This temple tour costs about 650 baht per person. They usually take you to these three temples. The price includes transport, tour guide and entrance. Entrance fees for foreigners will average 30-40 baht for each temple. You could in theory do this trip by yourself. However, the temples are spread out. What Pho is near the Grand Palace and I would personally do them both at the same time. The Marble Temple is very near Vimanmek Teak Mansion and again I would personally combine the two. Dusit Zoo is also nearby. Wat Traimit is on the edge of Chinatown close to Hua Lamphong Train Station. There is a lot to explore on foot in that area. But, all of that will be three days. So, if you don't have much time then obviously tours are more ideal for you.

Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha - the statue of Buddha is made from solid gold weighting 5.5 tons. The gold was hidden under plaster for centuries until rediscovery in 1954.

Wat Pho is the largest and oldest wat in Bangkok, and is home to more than one thousand Buddha images, more than any other temple in the country, as well as the largest single Buddha image: the Reclining Buddha.

Marble Temple is one of Bangkok's most beautiful temples and a major tourist attraction. Construction of the temple began in 1899.

If anyone has done the Temple and City Tour then please post your comments of your trip here so that your experience can help other people.

some of these prices are shocking! e.g. why would you take a coach to the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha and be rushed through in a few hours for 850 baht??
rushing has always been my main problem with tours. and that the price is at least double of what it should realistically be. someone is making a HUGE profit here.

    GRAND PALACE & EMERALD BUDDHA

This tour is overpriced at 850 baht. Entrance to the temple and palace is 250 baht for foreigners and free for Thais (please post a reply if this has changed). A taxi here from your hotel would be no more than 200 baht. From Siam Square it is about 100 baht. They give you a free brochure when you arrive. You can hire a guide there but it is not really necessary. I prefer not to have guides as I can take my time exploring. Plus, if you want to take pictures with a minimal of tourists blocking your view, you might have to wait for a while. This is something you cannot do on a tour. Every direction you look there is a picture waiting to be taken.

I personally wouldn't do this as a tour as it is very easy to do yourself. Just don't forget to ignore the people that try to tell you that the palace is closed until 2.30 p.m. (www.bangkokscams.com). I would combine a visit here with a trip on the canals, a stop at Wat Arun and finishing at Wat Pho. I did an article on a sample tour like this at thai-blogs.com.

You can search for more information about these places at www.paknamwebsearch.com

If you have done any of these tours, please post your experiences here to help other people.

I did the tour once with my mother. Took her to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. Over at Wat Arun, we saw this cardboard thing of a Thai ancient costume where you can stick your head behind so you can take photographs with the temple as backdrop? I asked my mother to stick her head behind one of the cardboards and took a photo with my digital camera. Only to be approached by a Thai lady asking for 40 baht (or was it 80?!) for using the cardboard! She pointed to a small signboard stating price for taking photo with the cardboard. No wonder no one was using the cardboard.... Luckily I managed to bargain down to 20. I thought it was funny though... I mean the photograph of my mother behind the cardboard.

Yes definitely watch out for the scammers, the infamous jewelry scammers around the temple grounds. I just put my head down, said no thank you, and speed walked ahead.
