Posts with อ่านไม่ออก Thai Characters
Hi,
I find many posts and replies have Thai writing with อ่านไม่ออก (อ่านไม่ออก) characters. I guess the main character size, using the default font, is small because of the tall vowels and super and subscript vowels and other symbols. I think using font size 5 (อ่านไม่ออก) or 6 (อ่านไม่ออก) is better especially for the beginner.
Is there any way of asking everybody to use a larger size font when writing in Thai.
Many thanks,
Richrad

I think you can't force a Poster what Font Size to use.
I think that many even don't know how to enlarge the Thai Font.
So one thing you could do and which I do from time to time is to Copy and Paste the Thai Font into a WORD-Document and enlarge the Font myself.
Surely not very User-friendly and needs some extra time too.My interesting blog about Thailand at Thailand Blog ---> click here

Re: Posts with อ่านไม่ออก Thai Characters
Actually that is one of the reasons why I often give up trying. I'm still in the stage where I have to decipher every single letter, so small fonts are very frustrating for me too. Sometimes I also copy/paste in word, but mostly I don't even take that time.
I don't know if there is any possibility to change the default size to a different size from the other text, but it would certainly help a lot for beginners like me
life is wonderful!

There have been previous threads about this and I think someone suggested a quick way of enlarging fonts. Can't remember what it was though. Would be useful to know.

In 'Firefox' go to 'View', text size>enlarge-C++
Think it is similar in IE, but not sure.
Sorry, David and myself responding at the same time, mine is for reading, Davids answer is for writing, so now you have both ends of the problem! Hopefully! To be happy with where you are, first be happy with who you are.

Re: Posts with อ่านไม่ออก Thai Characters
I have just enlarged the font of my signature by clicking on the "size" icon in the "edit signature" box. Then Djaidee pointed out that my name is actually spelled wrong! (thanks Djaidee for pointing it out) So now I have corrected it. I am surprised no-one pointed out the mistake before, but I think the font was so small that no-one noticed it. It seems that Thai font has to be several sizes larger than English for most Farangs to read it quickly and easily. And when you click on the "quote" icon the Thai font shrinks to an even smaller size that is (for me) simply unreadible.
