She loved Snow Town. It was certainly the highlight for her. She wants to go again but I think next time we should take gloves for her. The temperature was -3 C so yes it was cold for her. But she was very happy as she has a few story books about snow and Christmas. Now she wants to go and see real snow in Europe if anyone wants to sponsor a trip for her!

This reminds me of some of my students asking me if people in Switzerland put syrup on the snow and eat it
I made the mistake of comparing snow to the crushed ice they sometimes have as icecream... I was stuck trying to explain that it's "like frozen rain", because none of the kids had been to Dream World.
Next step: try to explain what a glacier is and how it develops .... "like frozen river" provokes questions like 'are there any ships on the glacier?'

...does Grace know that some countries are covered in snow for almost half of the year? Would be interesting to hear how she perceives snow

What a fun thing for you to watch, Richard. A child's first snowfall is always special!

Diffiuclt for a kid that age to comprehend. But, she did sort of understood what snow was from the story books and the cartoons she watched. She was looking forward to going to Dream World mainly because of Snow Town. But really, it is more ice than snow and you couldn't make a proper snow ball.

Nong Grace sitting with another famous person at Dream World. This is Thai Olympic heroine Buttree Puedpong (Nong Song). We bumped into her as she was there doing a promotional video. I think we might be in it too! Nong song used to be a student at my school.

When I was a child we used to look forward to snow. If we had a 'snow day' when school was closed, we made snow cream with sugar & vanilla. Of course, that was before we realized what we were eating along with the snow.

I'm glad Nong Grace got to experience 'snow' and cold weather. She looks delighted with the experience. Thanks for sharing.

Meeting Buttree Puedpong along the way is cool. I idolize that olympiad, as I also practice her sports. Thanks for sharing Richard. Grace is so cute.
