Re: Another Change of Address for Gor
I haven't been back to see him since I posted the above news. However, when he was in Dan 1, I did send a letter to him at Dan 2 and he said he received it quickly as normal. His friend works in the postal office.

I forgot to say, I went to see Gor last week and he is now back in Dan 2 with his friends and his old routine.

Phew! When I saw there was a new post I thought something bad had happened again-like a transfer to another prison.

Re: Another Change of Address for Gor
I am so very glad to hear that you were brave enough to send that mail to the governor.. i wish that more of us would unite and apply pressure in this way to other matters too (such as the immigration rules for expats and husbands of Thai Nationals). I myself have done such things myself; sending letters and excerpts from publications to make authorities aware that they are in the publ;ic eye.
If Farang realized that the one thing that might influence a Thai to change a bit is if he/she whinks that they are losing "street-cred" in the eyes of the foreigner or of other countries. Only through losing face and embarassing them can one cause a reaction, for which i commend you greatly for having sent that mail.. it was Definitely this action that caused the governor to visit Gor.
I wish that foreigners would unite and make demonstration about the fact that Thai nationals married to foreigners get residence and work permits by marriage after 3 months in that country and can buy land in their name, whereas a Farang can be married, and also own a company o0r be retired and must still travel to borders constantly like a yo yo, even if suffering from a physical illness.
It might be an idea to make a website and foundation to deal with this.. i have often thought about it, but never acted on those thoughts due to the fact that i think that no one has the guts to dare to protest.. after all - people can disappear when they get too influential or bothersome in Thailand.
Whatever, im drifting off topic i suppose.
Thats great news for Gor. And you deserve a lot of the merit for it.
Thumbs up!

Re: Another Change of Address for Gor
So where should we exactly write to him to DAN 1 or DAN 2 at the moment?

Re: Another Change of Address for Gor
Sorry for any confusion here. As I stated above, he is indeed back at Dan 2. Anyway, he is famous enough there that he will receive any letter sent. They will find him out of the 3,000 or so prisoners.

Glad to hear he will receive letters wherever he is- I sent him a Christmas/New Year card to DAN1.
