Cute teen trio Faye Fang Kaew are back with their third album, POPParazzi. The three popsters Pornpawee Neerasingh (Faye),16, Dhanantorn Neerasingh (Fang),17, and Jarinya Sirimongkolsakul (Kaew), 16 are also sporting some funky new gear to match their groovy new songs.
Their latest single, "Help Me Please!," featuring rapper and singer Payu Clark, has already been getting plenty of play on music television.
Student Weekly recently met up with Faye Fang Kaew during their latest promotional rounds. The girls were vibrant and sincere as they told us about their favourite fashions and their adventures in showbiz.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Do you ever read gossip about yourselves in the tabloids?
Fang: Occasionally. We just read it for entertainment because they not only publish the facts, but also add their own opinions to them.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Do you ever give advice to your celebrity friends when they're involved in scandals?
Faye: We're still young, so we can't preach to our friends. But we understand how they feel when they're caught in an embarrassing situation. We always support our friends, and we never kick them when they're down.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Have you ever received negative feedback?
Fang: People have said that we sing off key or that we perform weak dance routines.
Comments like that make us feel sad, but they also make us work hard to improve.
STUDENT WEEKLY: As a group, what's your proudest achievement so far?
Fang: We like the fact that we can draw people together to see our shows. We didn't expect to come this far when we made our first album. We're grateful to everybody who has supported us and helped to make our dreams come true.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Kaew, do you ever feel uncomfortable getting dressed up?
Kaew: No. I always get clothes that match my personality. I actually pay more attention to my hairstyle. I like to change the colour and style of my hair.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Which one of you likes to dress up the most?
Kaew: Faye. She spends the most time getting ready. She turns our car into a dressing room and fills it up with accessories. Magazine photographers always take pictures of Faye when we go to fashion events.
STUDENT WEEKLY: If each of you could change something about your appearance, what would it be?
Fang: I'd like to be taller, because I'm only 160 centimetres tall.
Kaew: I'd like to be shorter!
Faye: I used to wish that I could combine the nose, lips, eyes and ears of different models that I see in magazines. But Fang convinced me that I look OK like this.
STUDENT WEEKLY: If you could have a date with anybody in the world, who would you go out with?
Faye: The richest guy in the world. I'm curious to know what kind of lifestyle he has and if he could get along with somebody like me.
Fang: My choice would be actor Chace Crawford from the American TV series Gossip Girl. He's so charming, and I love that show!
Kaew: Madonna. She's my idol. I want to know how she maintains her fame and how she got so great at dancing.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Why did you decide to record with Payu?
Fang: He has a unique singing style. Payu's also going to tour with us. He's even got some outfits to match our clothes.
STUDENT WEEKLY: Did you intend to sound more sexy on your new single?
Faye: A few people have mentioned our sexy singing style, but it's not sexy to us. We just used playful singing techniques in the song.
STUDENT WEEKLY: What are your future plans?
Faye: We hope that our new album will reach a wider audience. We'd love to perform overseas if we get a chance. It would be great to perform a gig with some Korean artists or to play in Japan. We just have to keep working hard.
