Club Song Identification
Hi,
First, I wanted to thank everyone for the great efforts they have put forth in identifying songs.
I have what might be a tough question...
On my last trip to BKK, I heard a Thai song both at Caribbean and Muse. (It was covered by the live bands.) It's sung by a male singer, and the best I can describe it, I would say that it almost sounds like grunge rock, kinda like Bush, very different from the other songs they play in the clubs. I think it's a newer song, as my Thai friends had heard it, but didn't know the name or the artist. Everyone in the clubs responded to the song, though.
What makes this hard is that I don't know any of the lyrics! Not a single word.
When it gets to the chorus, it's very powerful, and the singer just belts it out.
Any clues or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The band with a lead singer that sounds like Bush and everyone knows their songs is Potato. Try going thru the songs on the top as they are from the latest album.

Re: Club Song Identification
I think that's it! I think the song is ยื้อ yeu. It sounds so close, and I have to remember that I heard it played by the house bands. I'm not sure if it was the atmosphere or the alcohol, but I think the house bands' version was better!
Thank you ClashFanSG for pointing me in the right direction!

Your are most welcome McLovin.
If you like songs like these, check out Clash who is famous for their rock ballads, another favourite among house bands and everyone knows the lyrics. For more hardcore/adrenaline rock, Retrospect, their latest hit "kae ni-yaai" is also a popular choice(catchy songs, powerful chorus) among live bands but it requires a hardcore drummer...lol.

Hey, I checked those out. Yeah, they're pretty good. I listened to a lot of Clash's songs looking for yeu... It was like, so close, but no cigar! "kae ni-yaai" was cool, too!
I didn't hear a lot of thai songs at the clubs, mostly American songs, plus the Korean Wondergirls song, "Nobody" is really popular now. Man, every time that came on the girls squealed, stopped what they were doing, and did the little nobody-nobody-but-chu dance! Haha

Re: Club Song Identification
Hey ClashFanSG,
OK, I'm an idiot. For a while now I thought it was "yeu" until I heard the song I was looking for! It's "song taai kon gao dton rap kon mai" by Big Ass: www-ethaimusic-com/lyrics5/1141.html (Can't post links)
You can probably see what I mean regarding the chorus; big, belted out. It was even more powerful when played live in the clubs.
Thanks again for your help!

Re: Club Song Identification
I've heard several of their other songs, and they were just soso. Don't know why I like this one so much... But then again, girls dancing to the song only makes it better, right?? Haha
