Para Motor Ride over Samut Prakan

I found a Thai website for paramotor enthusisats. Onr of their members posted a series of pictures that they took as they flew over Samut Prakan. Unfortunatly it wasn't a clear day but there are some good shots.

Apparently they covered a distance of 80 kms and took about two hours. In this picture he is showing that they only used 5 litres of fuel.
This is at Klong Dan. They are about to fly over Samut Prakan Central Prison!
This is a new housing estate. Looks like they have an artificial beach and lighthouse. I might go and check this out. I saw their advertisement with an illustration of the lighthouse. I always thought it was a symbol.
Looks like a fishing village and fishing pier. Not sure exactly where. I will try and check this one out too.
The next two are over the Ancient Siam.

I didn't find any name (maybe Richard knows) but it is about 1.5km before the entrance to "Ancient City" on Sukhumvit, on your left going south from Bangkok. Across the road is the Soi that takes you to Wat Asokaram. A beautiful temple worth paying a visit.

I don't actually know the name though it seems to be a Thai-Chinese Standing Buddha. There is a temple next door but I am not clear whether it is attached or not. They seem to have their own entrance these days. I have a picture like yours but I think the Paramotor shot is far more impressive!
The Standing Buddha is actually just across the road from the Thai Red Cross Society.

As a follow-up to the first post I did do a bit of exploring along the coastline here. Sukhumwit Road runs parallel with the sea for a fair way but it is hidden most of the time. Some sois you go down are dead ends and others lead to the coast. So it is hit and miss when you explore. This is the Happy Land housing estate that you saw above. They do indeed have an artificial beach which looks very clean.

I took this picture from the top of the lighthouse. The wooden pier is part of the housing estate. Very nice too with deck chairs at the end. There is even a well-maintained swimming pool. The security guards were unusually efficient. I had to give them my driver's license before I could enter. They also wanted to know what I was doing. I just said I wanted to buy a house. Prices start at 2.45 million baht.

From the wooden pier at Happy Land, I saw another pier further north. So, I went off exploring again. Down a very narrow soi I found this brand new pier at the end. Apparently it is a new tourist attraction for our province where people can go to enjoy the view and the fresh sea breeze. Although it was very nice I am not sure about the location. Apart from the fact there were no signs at all at the top of the soi, it is literally in the middle of no-where. I think the only people which will use it are the people living on this soi. For the record, it is called Ban Saotong on Tetsaban Bang Pu Soi 118. It is 2.5 kilometers further on from the Bang Pu Seaside Resort. Would be nice to have something like this nearer to Paknam.

This picture is of a fishing boat that must have been wrecked in a storm. A lot of land erosion along this coastline. I will mark these two places on a map as soon as I have uploaded all the pictures over at www.paknam.com.
