    Birdwatching in Samut Prakan

If you are in Thailand and are interested in bird watching then you should check some of the wetlands and coastline in Samut Prakan. I found a great website today called Thai Birding that has marked two good locations in our province for observing birds. I have marked them on the satellite map above. The first is an area to the north and east of Ancient Siam which has many fish ponds. The other is along the coastline at Bang Pu Seaside Resort. The WWF have set up a classroom and watch-towers here. According to their website, they have spotted 66 resident species and 124 species of migrant birds.

For more information about Samut Prakan, please visit our site at www.Paknam.com

There are a number of other good areas around here. For example, Ban Khun Samut Chin which is on the west side of the river. I will add some more later.

Thanks for the info, but lots of other people, who see local wildlife as a welcome edition to the menu and do not care for the WWF or any other protection scheme for that matter! enjoy this website too!I happened to show some people in phuket photo,s I had taken of nesting migrational geese on the river bank south of Mukdaharn , 3 weeks later only crap!! feathers! and empty nests were left, so ssssshh please dont broadcast the locations of the few wildlife havens left in the kingdom, well meant intentions still do damage

Yes a very interesting web site, It's important to preserve wild life, I've always considered educating the young in wild life is one of the best ways in preserving nature.
I also thought the visitors location cluster map was good way to see who was looking at the web site.
