    Thai citizen with US. passport.

After all the headache I was advised to go to Immigration at Pimoon city near Loa border for visa. This time I show them my Thai citizenship ID. and I received one year visa.

Is 'Thai citizenship ID' the same as a house registration card?

    Thanks.

Re: Thai citizen with US. passport.

    Hello all
I am not sure of the original question here, but I do have some info that might help.
My wife (Thai born ) and my son ( USA born ) now have both Thai and US citizenship and both passports. On our last trip to Thailand I asked the immigration official at the Thai end what we should do. He said "no problem" took both my wife and sons Thai passports and stamped them and said welcome home with a smile. He said when we leave to show the US passports to the airline, and the Thai passports to Thai immigration. We did this and got our exit cards. When we arrived back in the US, we only showed our US passports.
    Hope this helps

maybe this has been covered...but I was born in Thailand and have U.S citizenship, I've been in the U.S. for 33 years. How do I know if I'm able to get or qualify for dual citizenship?

Re: Thai citizen with US. passport.

I would suggest that on your next trip to Thailand, you should obtain a copy your birth certificate (where you were born), and a house registration certificate. With these copies that would allowed you to get a Thai National ID Card, and then, apply for a Thai Passport in Thailand at the Foreign Ministry Office. (But there may a little problem to obtain a Thai Passport, you must be registered for a Thai Military Service, if you are a Male, or proof of Military Clearance)
    Hope this help!

Why would you apply for the one year visa, when you have the right to stay in Thailand for free & indefinitely?

If you have both the Thai ID and your name in a thai house registration book, then those are all you need to obtain your Thai passport (it will take only a few days - about 1000 bths).

    Then when travel.......
in/out of Thailand......use the Thai passport
in/out of US.............use the US passport

    Simple as that!!!

Simple as that.....no need any extra visa, to stay in your own country!
