No Signature
I have noticed that my signature has not appeared in a couple of recent posts. Anyone have an idea of what could be wrong ?

Re: No Signature
Some forums like the News Forum don't allow signatures to be shown due to the subject matter. We also don't allow commercial links or pictures in signatures unless permission has been obtained.

Re: No Signature
I have noticed that signatures are often sayings of Great Men. But why is it that you are not a Great Man yourself.
So, why not create your signature yourself, such as:
Show compassion to everybody,
Be always conscious that you could be wrong,
Lesser living creatures are probably as much intelligent as, or more intelligent than, I am, etc., etc.
The list can go on, on and on depending on vastness of your imagination.
I think, one should not be a rubber stamp of other Great Men. We are all Great Men ourselves.

Oh. My Gosh. When I say Great Men, I also mean Great Women as well.

Re: No Signature
I don't know what prompted you to launch a personal attack on me but, since you asked.
You're right, the signature you see for me are not my words. To the rest of the world I am not a great man. If I die tommorow the sun will still rise.
However, in my young daughters eyes I am the greatest man she has ever known and that's all that matters to me. The person I quoted was a great man and I honor him by sharing his words with people who might not have ever heard of him. This particular quote makes you think about your actions and what effect it might have in the future.
And really, why did you respond to this post if you couldn't offer a solution to my problem ? I think Khun Richard answered my question quite nicely." The present is an outcome of the past which will have bearings on the future."

Re: No Signature
I have to say. I didn't think that Senaratne's post was a personal attack. I read it before Mike replied and took it as a generalisation as why do men, as in mankind, always quote someone else instead of making our own statements and leaving a more personal signature.
After seeing Mike's response and reading it from a different perspective, it could be took either way.
A misunderstanding I think.

Re: No Signature
Yes, it was a misunderstanding, but as there are many people on the forum who are not native English speakers, then it is important to be very clear when making such statements. It is an important lessons to learn whenever you are travelling in foreign countries.
