    红?

Last week when I telephoned my wife she didn't answer the telephone and a short time later she sent me a text saying she wasn't well and that she had a headache and . I didn't understand and neither thai2english.com or my Becker dictionary were any help on the matter.

She explained to me today that it meant she had lost her voice but I'm still not totally clear how it translates? On thai2english I get the result:

    - Sorry, we could not find the word in the dictionary.
    - ask for; request for; ask; plead; beg.

Ah, that makes more sense. Thank you.

It isn't the first time she has made a small spelling error that confuses me and probably will not be the last. A few years ago we had a confusing time when she told me she wanted to get a when she meant a .

    Re: 红?

I think she meant 纤 not 红 maybe wrong spelling

    hurt
    neck

    纤 could be

1.she gets hurt around her neck .

    or

    2. She gets a sorethroat.

I think it should be (2) instead of (1).

    No,
纤 can usually mean having a sore throat.

if she wants to say she's hurt her neck, usually we'd say Ǵ, ¤

It is 纤. It is when you are going to have a flu, a cold, or tonsillitis (i.e., strep throat) and you start with headache and sore throat.
