Music review: Play (Album: Various artistes)

    Play
    Play
    GMM Grammy

Play is a special project to celebrate GMM Grammy's 25 years in the music business. The 12 songs on the album are performed by popular rock bands like Bodyslam, Big Ass, Clash and Potato. Each track is a reworking of a popular blast from the past originally recorded by GMM Grammy veterans like Bird Thongchai, Bow Sunita and Nuvo.

The songs are already familiar, so it's easy to get into the new rock arrangements featured on Play. All of the bands perform each track in their own unique way. Bodyslam's version of "Seai Dai (Regret)" has already become a big hit.

The album comes with an enhanced CD that includes photographs and a video interview with all of the featured bands. It also comes with stickers so that you can create your own album-cover art.

Play is a fun record where you can hear some great rockers performing 12 familiar pop classics. - VH

Re: Music review: Play (Album: Various artistes)

I remember when I first heard about the project, and when the first singles by Hangman and Zeal came out for it, and I was so excited for it, it was a wonderful idea, the first two covers were absolutely amazing, I was so pumped....

But then Grammy kept advertising it and pushing it and pushing it and pushing it for months and months...but it never came out until five months later...after more than half of the album had been released as singles... so by the time I finally got it, I was like...ohh yay, the Play album's finally out~ ...Finally. Woooo. I was still excited, but I was kind of over it at that point too ahah.

I think it was like slowly releasing the air out of a balloon, I think it would have had a bigger pop of excitement for me if they had released the album first, and not all the songs as singles little by little until there was almost nothing to look forward too ahah.

But there were some AWESOME covers on this album, much much much better than RS's cover albums with Girly Berry, Four Mod, and Am Fine. I definitely recommend anyone to check it out~

We just did our own review of it at our blog here if anyone wants to know more about it~ http://darathai.duayjai.net/?p=1077
