    Lexitron has the following entry:

    3 [N] hooded bandit; masked bandit
    Syn.
    Def. ǻԴ˹.
    Sample:зҡѧ§ͧѺѡҹ 2 ءԧ»׹١ͧ˹Ҥ

    I am trying to understand the sample sentence. Does it mean:

    a) While he was celebrating with his employees, two masked bandits attacked him with a shot gun in front of hundreds of witnesses. or

    b) While he was celebrating with his employees, two masked bandits started discharging their shot guns in front of hundreds of witnesses.

    In other words, does the sentence imply that the bandits shot "" or just began shooting? Does the verb "ԧ" have an assumed object in this sentence?

    Thanks.

    I was expecting one of our advanced students or native speakers to answer this by now. In the meantime let me say that I'd go with b., and would render ءԧ in this sentence as 'came in shooting', with no particular object.

    IMHO I read it as a)

    Where "" is the "mark" of hit men wielding shotguns.

    It's a good question. It seems ambiguous to me given the limited context. I tried looking at various usages like these, but didn't find anything that looks conclusive. Usually, from those examples anyway, the object of the verb is explicitly stated. I am interested in native speakers' impressions as well.

    Re:

    зҡѧ§ͧѺѡҹ 2 ءԧ()»׹١ͧ˹Ҥ

    While he was celebrating with his employees, two masked bandits suddenly came into the party and attacked him with a shot gun in front of hundreds of witnesses.

    ء = to go through without fear of opposition

    2 -> subject
    ءԧ -> verb
    () -> object
    »׹١ͧ -> extensive phrase
    ˹Ҥ -> extensive phrase
