Buk_Hoo_Kee
Please ignore my last post.
I have come to a conclusion after much consideration
You have made only 5 posts here, only on “Chatting in English”
You introduced yourself on Jan 21st 2004 claiming you are from Canada and that you were born in Thailand.
If you were a born Thai, you would have shown interest in your language or anything relating to Thailand but you had not done so.
All your 5 posts were in “ Chatting in English”
How would a 3 years old baby left his birth country and migrated to Canada becoming a citizen and not shown much concerned for Thailand. You claimed that you were a Thai/Lao and that your father’s Uncle was once a King of Lao. How interesting? You had made up all those lies.
Here are my findings:
You had only 5 posts. How could a man like you have know
so much about Singapore. You had shown much interest on
the issue of employing maids.
You knew so much about my country’s regulations and the tactics used by our government that you said to intimidate the citizens.
You knew so much about Singaporeans trying to migrate to another countries and that you are so biased about my country that she will not fared well in the 21st century. Obviously you are very jealous and disgruntled. You would love to see that day happened. Why it concerns you? What have my country did to you.
How could someone so far away have such an interest on us?
Don’t you think it is very funny or co-incidence? That a so-called claimed to be Thai who had migrated to Canadian, be a citizen there and out of a blue with only 5 posts in this website can only express something about Singapore and only a brief details of Thailand. How would be so familiar with the 5 ‘C’. Are you jealous of my country or the people?” and with your attachments here and trying to frame my country.
You also knew about my country history that in 1942 the Japanese had occupied my country. I can’t imagine a foreigner who knew so much about Singapore.
You could not have done your homework before enrolling as a member here on Jan 21st. You must be somebody to know about us. You are only 27 years old. The other 4 posts entirely on the issue of my country.
Don’t you miss Thailand? Don’t you want to learn Thai language as you have mentioned in the 1st post.
It seems to me you are a very busy man. The one month period you had only 5 posts. The last 4 posts you had made were around the time between 11am to 1pm. Very likely you are in Canada. The 12 hours different in time.
On the 2nd Feb, you said you were an Electrical engineer. 19th Feb, you are a soldier in Canada fighting for human rights.
I don’t buy your story. You are a Singaporean, a disgruntled Singaporean fled to become a citizen there. I called you a coward and traitor, nothing but all the bad images you have attached. You could have been good ambassador for our country. But you chose otherwise.
I cannot imagine if you would have disseminated all those articles to those Canadians. What would they think of you? Do you think that you could have all the praises you wanted? Do you think they would buy your stories? Who are you? What so big deal about you?
Any sensible man would think lowly of you. Do you think those Canadians will listen to you. It is just like you have been working in a big company for sometime, you quitted
the company and passing bad remarks about the company
to those around.
Don’t forget you will still be an Asian and that you cannot hide your identity forever.
Come out in the open if you want to fight for human rights. The power is with the people, they are always your votes. Without the people no one can govern a country.
Whenever you want to judge a country or a big company.
always look at the bottom line.
Fortunately we don't have many like you, otherwise we will be changing government at every election. My government been in power since 1959.
You are an imposter, a coward, a traitor and a liar.
(Buk_Hoo_Kee = How could you have this Chinese name)

Dear Justbob,
it is not as place to express his anger towards people or make attacks on their origin or knowledge.
It's just a share of different point of views about ideas and not personal attacks fight. You can be desagree about certain point of views and answering by others point of views. But this kind of beahaviour you have seem very infantile and base.
And i suppose many people who have post more than 5 posts or are on this chat since long time are agree with me.

I am not that kind of person. I do disagree with his points initially. But he had gone to far by posting attachments in
his last post. How would you feel If I will do the same to
you and your country.
I would deplored this kind of people and exposed this identity.
He is a Singaporean pretending to be a half Thai/Lao.
This is place where people have fun and he had upset my mood. I am still a friendly and jovial person. If you know me,
you wont't be bored.
If you have pay good attention to my posts . I am somebody
where you can learn and benefits from. I always give advice and I don't based what I think, I based on what I see. I have benefitted in my life and there are that I have missed. If you have study carefully on this topic, you will know I trying to guide him the right approach until his last post.
I can be reached if you need advice from me.

Sorry Justbob
Sometime, i am quick tempered. I don't know you well and felt your last post was excessive. I understand you have right to defend you about thoses critics and i am sure you have good arguments to oppose to these facts exposed Buk_Hoo_Kee.
Use them. I will be interesting to have your point of view about theses critics on singaporean governement or singapore life; Not about Buk_Hoo_Kee. I never gone in singapore i have just learnt newspapers.

Buk_Hoo_Kee has painted a picture, notwithstanding the fact that this picture is only painted on one side, there is some truth in what he says. I did a political piece on the Singapore Legal System end of last year. It is not difficult to find articles that point out the fault's of Singapore's system. But it is equally simple to run a search on reasons and justifications for many of the policies Singapore chooses to adopt, which Buk has conveniently ignored.
Though I feel Buk possesses an adequate level of intelligence, he lacks opinions. Most of what he thinks is quoted from the articles, not forming any personal opinions and showing that he assumed all he read to be bible truth, displaying a lack of analytical skills. I assume that Buk is not familiar with the essence of debate. In a debate like this one, it is important never to sound self-righteous. It is also important to never get to personal. And lastly, never resort to labelling. All of which Buk has infringed. But it's forgivable, he probably doesn't get into debates often.
To conclude, I do agree to an extent of what Buk has referred us to. However, Buk has failed to paint the other side of the picture. Buk, not being a seasoned debater has also stepped on a few eggs and may have unintentionally unnerved others. I will cease any exchanges with Buk till he learns to play fair. Fair = showing both sides of the story, giving personal opinions instead of what is simply written by others, no personal attacks, labelling, etc...
Have a good day Buk

Then again, it all depends on how you quantify and qualify success...

I am Thai/Lao, but is recogize as Lao. While reading this subject there were soo much emotions running through me that I can't even explain. Anger? Confuse? I don't know myself, but there were just soo much anger and hatred arguement here. I'm only 19 to be 20 in a few days and haven't experience life as much as Buk and Justbob. But, some of the thing that both Justbob and Buk-Hoo-Kee (quite harsh w/ his comment) said, I disagree with. That is what I like about this site, you can disagree and also get new perspective of things, and IT SHOULD BE RESPECTED.
My parent had left Laos before I was born and stayed at a refugees camp in Thailand. They had to leave Laos because their lives were in stake since communism was taking over. And my father was wanted because he was against the communist. Anywho, if they would have stayed back, then I wouldn't be here today (they would have beed killed). And life was hard for us in Thailand so we migrated to the US with the missionary help. Though we started out in the US w/ only $300 and the help of the church, we had come far. It wasn't easy finding work, but fortunately they did found it. During the summer we had to pick berries for what ever money we could get. I won't ever forget where I came from, or the struggles that my parent have to go through for me (and my sibling) to be here now, typing on my computer and attending a university. So, is it wrong for me (my family) not to stay in Thailand, and search for a better life? I still have Thai citizenship, but is going to test for the US. That way I will have a better opportunities to find a good job and travel won't be hard. If it's faith, one day I will be able to go on a missionary trip to Thailand for a year...better yet maybe Laos. (Laos does not allow the practice of Christian faith) Wouldn't I still be contributing to the country I was born in? And me and my youth and the adult raise money to be sent to the missionary in Thailand, isn't that a contribution?

Let me give you the senario of this man 'Buk-Hoo-Kee'.
He is 27 years old. He could not have left our shore as a 3 years baby. From what I figure only a few years ago, maybe 5 years.
He must be studying in one of the universities in Canada. Being a graduate, he had high aspiration like other graduates
in Singapore.
The first thing they would want, would be to own a car as soon as they are in the workforce. The next thing followed would be a dream house. Being a graduate, he might think
he is a class above others, unfortunately the situation have
changed. He knew so well the two essential things in life will
be beyond his dream in the early stage.
In Singapore, the car is the world most expensive. The house would be the 3rd most expensive in Asia, after Japan and Hongkong. If you can buy a new car in Singapore, you can buy 3 similar cars in Thailand, Malaysia or Australia at the equivalent price. Presently the price have fallen to about 30% because of the economic situation and is still expensive
to some.
Lets use one car for illustration. A 1600cc Toyota Corolla cost up Sin$125,000 in 1995 and presently it is selling at
Sin $75,000.
Buk-Hoo-Kee is one those people like Makiyo had said painted the only one side of the story. For the last 20 years,
only 5 opposition members have broken the stronghold of
the ruling party. Only two have retained their seats comfortably and the other 3 have failed to retain their seats.
Buk-Hoo-Kee is one type of person that have followed the path of the 3 who have lost. By resorting to unneccsary
remarks that he had posted those attachments to change
the mindset of the people. I have mentioned, Singaporeans are educated people.
He even posted one up and coming opposition leader by the name Dr Chee Soon Juan. Unfortunately, he too use the same
method trying to change our mindset. He failed, he failed
because he under estimated the people. It is not the ruling party that had prevented him. It is the people. Singapore would have many opposition members by now had he not made a mess of it.
If Buk-Hoo-Kee is intelligent enough, he would studied how the other 2 oppositon leaders could easily retain their seats.
How they have won the hearts of their electorates. One is already in his 5th term. He had failed in his 1st attempt and
he did not give up and had fought the battles and won. The ruling party had tried many attempts by fielding a strong
canditate to win back this vital seat. Such oppositions are well respected in my country. The ruling party will find it difficult to dislodge them once they have earned the respect of the people.
Unfortunately for Buk-Hoo-Kee, he is one of those quitters, as mentioned by our Prime Minister. Singapore is a fair country, if only you can see the right perception and understand the people. The power is with the people.
