    Marrying a Thai Lady

    Hi everyone

A while back I made a post about getting hung up over the whole "thai girl" thing...if you love a girl (or lady ) then it's not really about the race is it? It's about the person, surely?

Anyway, yesterday my fiancee was granted a visa to the UK so we can marry. It has been the worst 6 months of my life for worry and stress...the faceless beaureaucy and carelesss system.....but if I can offer hope, then if you speak true, be honest and ask questions then you will suceed..please dont be tempted to make things up, or lie.......the systems works eventually...if slowly!!

Besides, embassy officials are trained to detect if you're lying. When caught, you will get a tough time from them.

You would not buy a house with out insurance, so you should not get married with out insurance. The cost of not insuring either can be hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses, only the odds of a marriage breaking down are infinitesimally higher than your house burning down. Get your self a good prenuptial agreement before you get married.

Paul, you are either the most negative individual I have ever came across, or the most persistent troll the internet has ever produced!

Either way, I wish you would stop churning out this repetitive nonsense about love, trust and marriage.

It is plainly obvious that you have no experience in any of these areas.

Congratulations Robin. Thanks for posting a positive and encouraging story concerning the emigration progress. I hope everything works out well for you both.

    Hello Robin,
I believe this to be an important. Realise your wife to be, has her own culture, Thai culture, learn their ways, accept and respect the little things they like to do their way.
You will find it just another reason to love her all the more, as I do my Thai wife.
I wish you all the best for the future mate.

I'm neither, I just happen to be a realist, using statistical evidence. In Australia almost 50% of marriages end in divorce. I would also like to wish the couple good luck and a long and happy marriage.

Paul - only you would think of such a thing... I have married and for better or for worse, we do not have a pre-nup. In fact I thought about it.. and though if she were well off and asked of the same thing, how I would feel... pondering that, I decided to not ask it. I have fail in her love for me, and my love for her.

Some things for you to consider Paul...

    1) You are not an international expert on Thai women... Until you actually begin to accept them and their culture, you're not an expert on them. An expert is someone that understands them within the natural surroundings. All your comments seem to be around forcing them out of the natural environment - into your make believe world of Paul.. simple put... the Fantasy world according to Paul...

    2) You are negative.. and I do not care to try to understand... why.. I just understand that you appear to be bitter, and want to have things your way.. and only your way.

    3) In the 1 year + I have been on this forum, you have never once offered a congratulations to anyone getting married or engaged. You have always been TOTALLY negative... I think if you look around, you will find there are several good forums for people like you...

    4) An old saying.. If you have nothing positive to say... Say nothing at all... I would love to see you practice that ....
