This first video is the ceremony at the start of the Vegetarian Parade to send the nine Gods back to heaven. A large krathong was floated out into the middle of the river.

This is the second part showing the actual parade. THe Chinese Dragons do a performance in front of the city pillar shrine. The second performance is the scariest, particularly when the pole falls down knocking someone over. At the top of the pole was a young boy. The Vegetarian Festival ends tomorrow (Sunday 17th October 2010). In Samut Prakan we have the parade again starting shortly after 6 a.m. with a ceremony first at City Hall.
