What a shock... I am praying that he pulls through, what an amazing boy that has transformed in front of our faces to a young man.

Re: Gor has been shot - he is fighting for his life
It is shortly after 8 o'clock in the morning here in Thailand. The ICU is open but I just rang Gor's mother and she says that they will go in a bit later as they want him to rest. I am not sure what time I will go as they are apparently going to drop Grace off here for me to look after. So, there are no updates at the moment. I will post as soon as I have anything.

Re: Gor has been shot - he is fighting for his life
Richard i hope you got some rest, and are coping ok at this very traumatic time. Be strong. I believe Gor is strong enough in body and mind to pull through this terrible incident. Thank you for taking the time to keep us all updated.

Re: Gor has been shot - he is fighting for his life
Thanks for all your comments. I told Gor and he really appreciates all of your letters of concern. I will print them out later for him to read but at the moment he cannot sit up in bed. At the moment his back is giving him a lot of pain as well as a tube that was inserted into his side which I think is to clear water from his lungs.
If you wish to send a "get well" card you can do so by sending to the Paknam Web offices and I will pass them onto him.

I just came back from visiting Gor in the ICU unit in the hospital. Grace is here with me now watching Halloween cartoons on Disney Playhouse channel. I will post some pictures of her doing "trick or treat" on her thread later. Gor was sad that he wasn't here to watch her do that.
Gor is certainly looking better today, though obviously still in a lot of pain. He was able to talk almost as normal though he is still wearing the oxygen mask. The swelling in his throat seems to have gone down. The doctor says he should be able to eat something soon.
He is not out of danger yet as the bullet is still lodged in his shoulder. It apparently went into his left shoulder and is now lodged in the right. They cannot operate to take it out until he is more stable and out of danger.
It was apparently a pen gun. The first shot missed him. Gor thought there was only one bullet in it (or maybe there were two pen guns) and so he lurched forward to overpower him. Before he could do that he was shot again in the shoulder.
He was rushed to hospital on the back of a motorbike lodged in-between two people. His clothes were covered in blood. They took him to the nearest hospital which is Paolo Hospital Samut Prakan. This is a private hospital and is obviously going to be expensive. However, if they had taken him to the government hospital he might not have survived that first night.
I cannot say any more about the incident at this moment because of the police investigation. I am not sure how far they will take it. Like I said before, the "shooter" was a family member. He has a history of mental unstability and so I am sure no malice was intended. I am also sure it wasn't premeditated.
I will post again today if there is any more news otherwise I will wait and write something tomorrow when I go to see him again. As he is still in ICU we don't want to overwhelm him with visitors.
