Re: Gor has been shot - Picture: Back Home!
Gor wouldn't be able to fly to places like America anyway because of his criminal record.

Re: Gor has been shot - Picture: Back Home!
As I understand it, there is no time limit-but obviously the longer time since offending and applying for the visa the better.
It also rather depends on the circumstances of the visit-sponsorship by,say in Gor's case, an invite to speak by an academic body/college holding a seminar on young journalists in SE Asia or on the drug problem in the region, would be likely to result in a visa, as quite likely would sponsorship/recommendation by a suitable respectable (wealthy?) individual.
However a visa for an independent holiday with little in the way of a structured plan probably would not succeed.
A visa may be granted to visit relatives-but then it has to be shown that the visa will not be used to illegallt immgrate or work in many cases!
Know all this as a neighbour's nephew with an armed robbery conviction, released 7 years ago after 6.5 years in prison, has just got a visitors visa to the USA via such sponsorship. Nothing is guaranteed but much is possible-it all depends on the person dealing with the visa, reason for the visit, and the evidence offered."There is no such thing as totally useless information"

Re: Gor has been shot - Picture: Back Home!
He is still in pain and spending most of his time sleeping. He went back to the hospital yesterday for an x-ray and check-up. He apparently still has some fluid in his lungs so he still needs the check-ups. The doctor said he was very lucky to be alive. He also said that if Gor wanted him to remove the bullet he would need to sign a waiver as there was a high chance of him being paralysed down his right side during the operation.

I fear there is always a chance of that happening.

He will have to make a wise decision. Very risky situation. We can just pray for the best. God willing things may improve.

Re: Gor has been shot - Picture: Back Home!
This is a shocking news to me. I've been very busy lately and I haven't had very much time to join the forum like I used to do. Anyway, I always think of Richard and Gor no matter how busy I am.
Thanks, Richard for the update about Gor's condition. I am praying for Gor. I hope he will recover and get back to normal soon.
I wish all the best for both of you.
