The Erawan Museum in Samut Prakan will be holding celebrations to welcome in the New Year.

Starting at 6pm on Dec 31, the event will feature several highlights to entertain visitors including a traditional likay performance, a magic show, as well as a ''Winter Love Song'' concert by the Roasted Ducks Jazz Band of Silapakorn University.

There will also be a walking street where many great souvenirs and local products will be on sale, along with prizes and cash giveaways worth up to 50,000 baht.

The end of another decade, How time flies.

I've been fascinated by how many Thai's I've met who don't even stay awake to welcome the New Year. My fondest memory was December 2007 when my wife and I went cycling round outside a very deserted Imperial Sam Rong. Now I've discovered the Erawan museum, this seems like a far more interesting idea for New Year.
