    Wang Nam Keow, Ratchasima

We went to Wang Nam Keow last week, a district of Nakhorn Ratchasima on the edge of Khao Yai National Park. It's quite close to Bak Chong Chai, on the road from Ratchasima to Saraburi.

The main draw, my guess, is that it's a nice place if you live in Bangkok to go for some cooler, country air in the cool season. Also the resevoir. There are quite a few resorts in the foothills and some nice rustic restaurants with good food. The resort we stayed at cost 1,200 baht, but they said it was 2,000 baht at the weekend. I'd imagine the prices vary a bit but most seemed quite comfortable, and the bed in our resort was as comfy as in any hotel I've stayed in.

Those prices were for the waterside villas; they managers said the places behind were cheaper to rent

While it was still about 28-30 degrees in Bangkok, it was cool in the evening here and the morning dew was so heavy it looked like it had rained in the night.

There's even a funky roadside cafe, but it's not open yet.

Thanks Anatta, I'm sure there must be a map on one of those links. Should point out that although I said it's on the Ratchasima-Saraburi road, it's a smaller road, not the main road between the two towns.
