Re: How to translate songs
Here is how I learned to translate Thai songs into English. First, I know a little Thai from living in Thailand many years ago. Recently I got three children's workbooks teaching the Thai alphabet. So learn the alphabet. Next, go to YouTube and type in the name of a song or band you like, typing in English. Usually in the YouTube that pops up or a related YouTube, you will find the title of the song you want in Thai. Copy the title of the song written in Thai. Paste it into Google with the word "lyrics." You will soon find the lyrics to the song in Thai. If you know the Thai alphabet, you will quickly recognize whether you have the correct lyrics. Copy and paste the lyrics into a Word document. Now go to Thai2English.com and feed each line of the song through the translator. It will give you a phonetic karaoke-type translation (copy and past this into your Word doc) as well as a very rough word-for-word translation into English. You must have some basic knowledge of Thai grammar to make sense of it. This process may get you about 80 percent toward your goal of translating the song. Once you have your best guess as to what the song means, run your translation by friend who really knows how to speak Thai. And there is the secret to translating songs into Thai!

The more songs you translate, the faster you can translate!
