A year in Thailand pt3 (Trang)
March 15th i went from Krabi to Trang. Although there were 1 or 2 other farang here, there wern't many, and the little thai i have learnt over the last few months, came in especially useful during my stay here.
There were some great places to see in Trang ranging from awesome beaches such as Hat Yao to the towering ton tie waterfalls. I also did an island trip and saw koh muk and koh Kradan amongst other things. The actual town, although very nice had no attractions in it itself other than 2 or 3 wat. For the most part i hired a motorbike and went to the surrounding areas. I noticed accommodation was more expensive here than Krabi, although i did find a nice place near train station for 150B but on the other hand, internet and food was cheaper
As i said in my last Krabi update i am way behind on all my online blog and am only half way through my Trang update.... still have Satun, Koh Tarutao and Hat-Yai pictures and news to upload yet.....So at the moment i only have these pics of Trang uploaded of the beaches, town and hot springs. I'll upload the waterfalls, islands and others later in the week.
(oops.... will add pics in a few hours)

Re: A year in Thailand pt3 (Trang)
Trang has loads of waterfalls, but due to the price of motorbike hire (300B/day) compared to Krabi (100B/day) i couldn't keep the bike for a long time and see all the waterfalls so i saw the ones lonely planet said were the "best" which was ton tok and ton tae falls. Though i do sometimes question lonely planets judgement....
Anyway, it's a good reason to return to Trang, to see the other waterfalls. I always like to leave 1 or 2 things i havn't done as it's an excuse to come backTon Tok was great and was by far the most impressive waterfall i've seen in Thailand yet (apparently Trang see's a lot of rainfall.... so even in the dry season, the waterfalls are still quite impressive) Ton Tae wasn't as spectacular but was a lot nicer place to be. Many Thais were there swimming in the pools and having picnics, and as always, it wasn't hard to meet and talk to everyone..... people are just so friendly here.
((Next i'll update with pics of Trangs Islands))

Koh Kradan is a very nice place, though the food there is not cheap.
