Everytime I post, I say , dont make an ass of yourself again !

I have always wanted to have a better understanding of the Thai.
I have a gift of being able to expose my ignorance with only a margin of shame.
I want to see more clearly in overview the Thai People's.
Please point me in the direction of readings and books that might enlighten me.
    .

From what I have read (huge tombes that span SE Asian history in general) (retention questionable)). A peoples came to occupy this portion of SE Assia quite appart from the peoples that occupy India, Myanmar, Viet and China.
More closely related to the peoples of the Philipines ( in my experiences oustide of physical comparisons there aren’t any).
Anyways, .. These people started a great kingdom, the ‘Thi’ who spanned many lands that would now be china , Laos , cambodia etc….
(tryin in my drunken state to keep it short).
Eventually a very powerful and dominant empire arose.
    ……..
    ……

These people saw a war (for how long ?), that ended in 2 empires.
I can only understand as being the Thai and the Laos .
In my uneducated mind I understand that this division lasted over 2,000 years,
Later i in a Great war, the Thai won from the Laos the regions we would now consider ‘Isaarn". This division occured aproximately 700 ? years ago ?

Not as accute as the orriginal seperation between the peoples.

Which i guess is why such a strong assosiciation between Issarn and Laos, than central Thai.
. Thus the simularities, thus the divisions.
These are my vague perceptions/understandings, please re-direct me for more recent readings,

I will not enter chillie fired arguments, but I would like to consider alternate understandings.

Bring some grapao with you friends.

I have this technique when I have doubts on what I am posting. I write it out in full and save it first as a draft in my email or in Word. And then I go back to it when I am more rationale (or lucid? sober? mild-tempered? logical? better-humored? level-headed?) I don't think there's anything that is so urgent that it cannot wait for a few hours to be posted.

Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or an idiot from any direction.

So Thais , divided into 2 kingdoms, Thais / Laos,
Theres a second war ( about 700 years ago ? ) , And the Thai , take control of the Isaarn area ?

I just want to have historical \ linguistic understanding.
don't read anything more into it .

Initially, when I read the first post, and then gave it a 2nd reading, all I could make out was that the wriiter exclaimed that he was drunk (and rightfully so too ), and that he was like pretty upset about Isaan first belonging to Laos and then conquered by Thailand (judging from the super big letters he was using, I thought he was upset and shouting hahaha). It turned out that he was merely trying to find out historical details
